Creativity, Analysis & Communication

Those are the personal and professional pillars that Anika S. Jones, the Lead Consultant at Holistic Fluency, strives to uphold.  As The Community Curator, Anika supports educators, individuals, and organizations  in defining, developing, and demonstrating various levels of community with intentional and restorative mindsets.  She seeks to build relational capacity while doing this work.  The utmost focus is on promoting connectedness and collaboration through holistic strategies and restorative practices. Holistic Fluency Consulting is a comprehensive education consulting firm with a network of over 25 consultants.  A unique approach is that at Holistic Fluency,  Social & Emotional Learning is merged with data; both formal and informal, but each piece is a strategic component of the approach.  Throughout their work one will find that insight, confidence, and efficacy are increased through development of self-awareness, communication, decision-making, advocacy, and service.

Brief Scope Of Work

  •  Facilitated a team of 75 educators through the inquiry cycle of making connections between student disciplinary issues and social-emotional learning needs. Anika guided the educators through disciplinary data to reflect on patterns and inconsistencies. Subsequently, educators were given tasks & strategies to help build students’ toolboxes. Also, building wide processes were streamlined to help educators approach student discipline through a social emotional learning lens.
  • Social Mindfulness series that spanned a semester and was designed to build relational capacity in all involved in the development of the young people; to include behavioral specialists, educators, administrators, and staff. During sessions, restorative and responsive strategies were emphasized to promote advocacy and initiate collaboration.
  • The inner workings of a course of the same name was outlined as Teen Leadership educators were prepped and positioned to facilitate middle schoolers in developing the ability to analyze their strengths and opportunities, set goals and have the confidence and fortitude to carry them out. It was a blended learning experience where the focus was a foundational, systematic approach, and on-going support for navigating the direct and nuanced challenges of adolescence.
